The world of food photography can be riddled with faffing and fiddling, and the joy of the star ingredient can get missed in a flurry of props and garnishes if you’re not careful. So when A.David, fresh produce distributors extraordinaire, got in touch to ask for a series of shots of their amazing range of food, raw and freshly harvested, I was in seventh heaven. Just me, my camera, and a car full of beautifully fresh vegetables to shoot. The weather has not been on my side, but a combination of my kitchen table, a friends potting shed and the odd break in the weather saw me through. And a welcome bonus was some Wye Valley asparagus, some watercress and some rhubarb left over to eat for dinner this week!
